Goo left behind by wheel balancing weights

Does anyone have any tips to remove this stuff that won't damage the wheel finish? I have 997 Carrera IIIs and 997 Turbo wheels, and need to get it off both of them (in case the wheel type matters).

Thanks all. I have been afraid to do anything for fear of removing the finish.
