Factory Ipod Adaptor

Having heard rumors on this board of a factory Ipod adaptor, I checked with my local dealer who indicated it is now available and will fit MY2003 and later with Nav/optic ring. It replaces the CD changes and offers full Ipod read out/control on the Nav screen. It also has Aux RCA a/v inputs. There is also and Bluetooth adaptor available. The IPOD adaptor is part #GW5RMT01D1. The Bluetooth adaptor is part #BTA-1000. Has anybody had this installed or have anybody been able to find it on the PCNA website?

Those stock numbers sound like the Gateway 500 with bluetooth adapter. That is not the factory option, but is the option from Dension.

I have the Dension iPod adapter and bluetooth TOOKI adapter from NavTV. This is one of the best combos to have since the Dension plays both mp3s from the iPod and from external USB drives. The TOOKI unit is awesome... its better than the factory Telephone module since it emulates it but wirelessly.

^^^ I've heard about the mobridge, but never seen an actual review of it. How is it better than the Dension? Price? Features?

Any more info on this? Is it really the OEM-Porsche solution for iPod integration, or is it simply the Dension/Gateway/Mobridge solution?

Spyder, It's got the same features as the dension but you Can scroll 99 songs at a time and the Mobridge is a license Apple Dev so they got the actual SDK for development and doesn't have to reverse engineer the apple connections. there is plenty of reviews on the mobridge unit on the cayenne section and the DIY section.

I have heard of a factory iPod kit, however it is a FM modulator and a charging unit. I have the Dension Unit, not perfect but it works well.

I think this "new" PCNA unit is a rebranded Dension Gateway 500. I'm getting it installed next week and I'll let the board know the results.

PCNA is not selling Dension, WE are. (shakes head)
The Porsche Tequipment piece is a boxed fm modulator with no control from the PCM.

Duane - what dealer called this a 'factory unit'...?
Oh, and if that is the model number they are using, IT'S OLD and outdated. Newest inventory is in our warehouse, and it's a new number. We are the primary US distributor, so our inventory cycles quite fast and always new inventory in stock.

If you want this stuff, from the source, go HERE: www.BumperPlugs.com

And yes, we DO supply dealers with this product as well. Gateway Icelink unit for Porsche iPod integration, BTA1000 Bluetooth adapter for same, and Tooki Bluetooth Unit for full featured BT integration.

Email me anytime with questions: eric@bumperplugs.com
