Thoughts on pricing of a 2005 Carrera S
Hi,
I am new to the forum and look forward to being part of this forum.
I did want to get feedback on the pricing of a porsche being offered to me.
It is a 2005 911 Carrera S with 30k miles. There is an extended warranty
till nov 2010. It is full leather, with power seats, and it is a tiptronic.
It has the following options:
P01L - Adaptive Sport Sts Lthr Int
249 - Tiptronic S
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
M6N - Sand Beige Floor Mats
Would $60K be a good price for this?
THanks.
Bobby

Ouch . The miles . Keep in mind that the warranty on a certified car is a "Porsche warranty" rather than the "factory warranty" and they differ on certain coverage . Plus imbedded into the price is the certification .
As a comparison -- These deals got my thumbs up --
a poster posted an 07 leftover car priced at 15% off (76500 on a car with only 300 miles)
another poster posted his for sale car with 8K miles in the mid 60's . It's an 06 with only 8K miles .
another poster posted his price of 50K on a low mileage 05 C2
The used car market has a lot of competition . If your used car had under 10K miles I would feel your deal was good . Porsches take the first depreciation hit at 10K , then the big one comes at 50K and with 30K miles and this price you are not that far away in terms of timeline.

The mid 60's was another poster whose car is in the for sale section but he posted oa well as the first car on this thread (Page 3 post number 33) https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=120002
The 50K car was an 05 C2 --not an S .
Mine are is 06 C2S with more options. It is silver/Black, I have tip, Bose, full leather, chrono, power seat, heated seat, Nav, MSRP $97K. I was trying to tarde in for a new turbo couple months ago and it was quoted at $67K with 13K miles. Use this as a guideline, and do the math. I am not sure what was yr MSRP. Is the car from dealer or 3rd party? If from dealer, then i think it is about right because they need to make a few bucks.

They went over allotment on the trade to avoid insulting you as they have tremendous profit on the Turbo . Plus by selling your car they will add to rge profit. Plus your car is a year newer , heavily optioned, much lower miles (Porsche depreciate with miles ) .
How much did they discount the Turbo? My guess is not too much (5K max ) .
On mine I got 2K and my local dealership had none . Porsche dealership love when you trade a 997S for a Turbo . I did this after only 5 months with my S . I also did it back in 1998 with my 993 and back then the Turbo had just been discontinued . I paid over MSRP for a used Turbo.
Both times I got great trade in values . Dealerships are smart enough to know that a person loves his car which he is trading and with Porsches the dealership gains the most with a repeat Porsche owner as they can profit on both cars .
The 67 which you were offered a few months ago may not be the same now either . It's hard to guess though. On one end theres the facelift , and on another the Porsche factory did face aproduction setback with a recent fire .
Plus keep in mind that the OP car was a tiptronic , a year older, and with more miles . With that car if it crosses 50K and the new PDK transmission is all that its supposed to be he will face a resale depreciation in two counts .
IMO --he's better off with a low mileage car . Maybe even a new car like a leftover 07 with moderate options .
