Pics of my new Techart steering wheel

I had a standard "round hub" steering wheel. It felt really thin and whimpy. Especially compared to the thick steering wheel on my BMW X5. I had to upgrade and chose to have this Techart steering wheel installed. Decided to go all the way and have the multifunction buttons installed too. What do you guys think?

Very cool. I love mine and though they're expensive, its a mod that you can appreciate every time you get in the car.

I hated the stock "sport" wheel. Too skinny and rather large in diameter for my taste.

Techart does a great job with steering wheels.

this is the best wheel, however i dont think it changes the diameter since it is a rewrapped oem wheel.
your round airbag wheel is actually the sport steering wheel and is the smallest diameter steering wheel available from porsche.
congrats, and i agree this is one of the best mods.

I just picked up a used round airbag wheel. It has exactly the same diameter as the MF wheel I removed. I believe the real "sport" wheel is smaller diameter with thicker rim than the standard round airbag wheel. I prefer the rim on the round airbag wheel to the MF rim. It feels slightly more tactile and has the built up grip above the 9 and 3 positions. I'm sure the Sport wheel would be a further improvement that would feel more like the wheel on my C55 which I love. It has the same diameter (14 3/4") as my current 2 Porsche wheels, which is small by MBZ standards.

well, i think the wheel you have (triangle bag) looks the best, i couldnt stand the round volcano grey ring around the circle airbag.
but honestly the sport wheel (round airbag) with the 2 little "*****" at 3 and 9 oclock has the smallest diameter not much, maybe 5 or 10mm.
i got the atiwe steering wheel which is 340mm in comparison to the oem 360mm.

I'm not impressed with the grey ring either, but I find it preferable to the lack of grip on the standard MF wheel. Honestly, the 2 wheels are exactly the same diameter when you hold them against each other.

What is the atiwe wheel?

I wish I could just send my MF wheel to someone that could rebuild/thicken the rim. 2 grand for a new one seems a little steep to get added padding.

i think the round airbag wheel is 360mm and the others are 365mm, not enough to notice...
mine is 340mm, great size for me.

Thanks Raffi. Do you mind sharing the price and where you purchased it? I couldn't find any pricing on their website. Is there an adaptor required for fitting to a 997S?

sorry to the original poster for going off topic,
you can install yourself or take to any porsche shop, diy instructions are all over 6speed and rennlist.
i dont remember exactly how much i paid, probably close to 1500, the adaptor is quite expensive for the 997.
i think the price for these things fluctuates all the time though.
alot of the forum sponsors sell these fvd, evo etc.
