I use a Colgan for AX events to avoid 'cone scuffs'. I also use it for extended road trips. The fastening technique is much improved and you don't the 'rub marks' that bras used to leave.

I never liked the 'orange peel' like texture and unavoidable end lines that a clear bra exhibits.

I know clear bras are very popular but we're all entitled to an opinion.

 

I was worried about the same things you were in regards to the clear bra and this was resolved by using Ventura shield which has a smooth finish unlike the 3M version, also I had the entire front end done (hood, bumper and fenders) with a complete seem wrap. Which since the seems wrap under the car you can't see the end-line what so ever. Anything else and in my opinion your running the risk of damaging your cars paint finish. Just my 2 cents.

 

clear bra all the way. Just do the complete hood and front fenders and you will not even see a line. Line issues are a thing of the past. There is not yellowing of the bra as well if you go with one of the better brand of film like ventrueshield. Using a bra will induce scratches no matter how you fasten it.
