On the normally asirated car it's not much louder than stock at low RPM . What you notice is the more rasp like sound which I find intoxicating . It's much like selecting music --some love it others pass .

At high throttle its just unbelievable .

On my Turbo (also has Tubi) it is louder in the cabin and more homogenized as a result of the Turbo's . However at high throttle it's beautifully symphonic and crisp as can be.

I love these Tubi exhausts.

+1 regarding the sound of the Tubis. Had a pair on my car for most of last year. They sound awesome at high rpms - really, really amazing howl! Around town and at part throttle they're quiet and at cruise there's barely more cabin noise than standard. All good then...?

Err, not quite; they give little (probably no) extra performance. So I put on some AWE cats as well.... BIG mistake. Drove a half mile and had the Tubis removed. They are designed to work with the additional silencing offered by the standard (restrictive) cats. Take this away and they sound like an ear-splittingly loud tractor with a hole in the exhaust!

Now waiting for my AWE mufflers to be delivered. I'm currently running the AWE cats with the standard 997S cans - not too loud but way too raspy at WOT. The AWE cats do offer a significant amount of extra urge right through the power band however. Very noticeable.

So my recommendation would be AWE all the way. Bigger, ballsier deeper (but less tuneful) sound than the Tubis but still sound sensational. Plus the extra BHP too.

Just need to decide what to do about headers now....?

I looked at AWE Vs Tubi too and I felt both were good . I placed Evo headers along with the Tubi system and the F77 carbon air box . The ECU flash completed the system and I got enough performance to having me running right into buying a Turbo .

The AWE was also a great system. The car I test drove had the Evo intake , and full AWE package . I liked it but did not love the exhaust note in the same way as those Tubi's. It's like comparing music notes --taste vairies . The owner of the AWE car loved his . The AWE was priced beautifully though and if cost savings is a factor I think its a great deal.

Keep in mind that the sum of the parts creates the effect of the package and my Tubi's were in a different setup than yours.

Mufflers alone = I agree =No noticeable major performance

Mixing AWE with Tubi ? Taking your words at face value --I.m glad i didn't do it on mine .

I'm not sure what "sound" you are looking for, because as previously mentioned everybody has a different taste in exhaust note, but I went with the full A.W.E. system and absolutely love it. Here is my car, it's even better in person.

Great clip . I liked the AWE system . I had to choose one though and it did come down to those two . Just so you know --the F77 Tubi cost more than double the AWE so I even weighed price into the mix .

The AWE gave a great peformance punch (I drove a car with it) and a deeper sound . However the F77 carbon box was like a work of art and combined with Evo headrs and Tubi exhaust I felt the car had more power . Of course it merely "felt" that way as neither car was dyno tested.

The sound of the Tubi was more rasp like and schrill . I loved it . In fact I wish I could have kept that car too when I went into the Turbo (also has Tubi on it) .

I am considering an AWE upgrade on my 997tt though if it will match my current components. They just came out with a Tubo upgrade . I very much respect their products.

Both can be good . It's just a matter of which suits a person's taste.

I have AWE mufflers and AWE 200 cel cats. The first few days I was a little bit disappointed because it was a little bit loud. After few days, the sound settle due to the computer adjusting to the higher flow. Now, it is only a little bit louder than stock but after you pass 3,500 rpm the sound is sweet.

I did notice a significant change in power. I always tough that AWE was exaggerating with their numbers. I can tell the change in power is significant.

Bottom line. I'm very happy with the AWE mufflers and sport cats. I'm running standard headers.

Benefits:
1. I little bit louder (I like it)
2. Power gain
3. Weight savings.
