Decisions...How about some help?
Option A:
Say you could pick up an '05 C2 with 10,000 miles for $50,000. I know the history of this car since new and is showroom. My thought is to install an EVOM supercharger, stock Lobster Forks, H&R springs, maybe some exhaust and call it a day for around $65,000. Should make for a very fun sleeper at a great price. Also, EVOM is local for me which is a plus.
Option B:
Pick up an '05 C2S with similar mileage and not really do much to it for around the same $65,000ish.
Option B sure does not sound like as much fun, but looking for opinions.

Option B is better IMHO. Better car out the box and just nice having that 3.8 that you can use as a springboard for bigger and better things like a supercharger. I was in the same place as you and ended up with my 05 C2S with 10k miles for 65 even. Soooo glad I spent the extra money on the S. I sleep well at night. (except when I'm dreaming of switching to a GT3)
Man, I surely did not expect this much of a weighted response. So far everyone is in favor of a stock C2S over a supercharged C2. Just so I am clear, I don't necessarily care about some of the features offered on the S. I am sure the stock breaks on the non-S are fine, don't plan to track. The adjustable suspension on S does not mean much to me, would drop it with H&R. I am sure you can feel a little difference between the 3.6 vs. the 3.8, but when the 3.6 is supercharged, I suspect the wow & fun factor is going to be in favor of supercharged 3.6. Now I do like the look of the S with larger wheels and a lower stance, which is what I would intend to do with the base C2.
Anyone else want to help me analyze this a little further. However, I must admit, for whatever reason, your responses have made me think more about just getting a nice C2S, in the color of my choice and putting some 20" HRE P43's and not worrying about performance mods for now. I just thought I would get so much more performance out of the base C2 supercharged, that I would enjoy that car much more.

In your situation, I'd probably do option A and get a supercharger! Why not?
Although, there is something to be said about the simplicity of the S and leaving it stock (it's what I'm doing now).
Getting a stock Carrera, lowering, then supercharging sounds like a nice project. It's definitely more bang for the buck. There was another thread in the 996 forum about the EVO supercharger equipped 911's hanging in with 996TT and 997TT (although the SC'd 911's were slightly behind in certain gears).

And then again, I don't mind the look of a stock 997 (lowered with 19's) and 450 hp sure is tempting. Decisions...Decisions...
Thanks for the compliment Piper. Seal Grey looks pretty damn good with a kit. Have you seen Synergy and Mr. Pink's cars? Two of the best 997's out there. Seal Grey really brings out the details of the GT3 bumper and side skirts.
I love the new HRE P43's. Good choice on a black car
Good luck on your decision. Let us know what you finally decide on.

C2s
Here is one more thing to consider. I think you can go to a 2006 C2S for the $65K so then you would have a car that is also one year newer and better on resale. I think an 05 C2S is more like $60K which would help pay for the 20's.
option A! As I have an 05' carrera with full exhaust,, ecu flash cold air intake and I think I can run with a "s" . I have posted a thread to run against a stock s in a friendly comparo but I got no response.
