Sirius options

My C2S will be produced on Apr 3 and I can't wait!!!! I've been reading the sirius options avail, but has anyone had the sirius module installed from the Cayenne? My dealer offered this. Is the Porsche interface better than the other options out there? The quoted price is $1400. Any thoughts appreciated.

I'm also curious about this. Was the $1400 for parts and installation?

I don't have this yet, but I hope to do it soon.

I've seen this in cars with no CD Changer, the Dension Gateway 500, and the Cayenne SIRIUS module. It works just like you hope it would. Full control through the PCM. The antenna sits on the top of the dashboard.

I'm DYING to get this done!

The 1400 is including installation. My build will occur next week and if I'm lucky I'll have the car in a few weeks. I would like to have all addons done before I pick it up. I may also try to get this price lowered come deal time as nothing was written on paper. The other concern was the cayenne add on is XM i think and with a possible merger with sirius what will happen...will both xm & sirius modules work indefinitely?

Good question. I think you can do either sirius or xm retrofits (based on the suncoast parts web site), though, whether they will work after the merger, I would assume so otherwise there'll be a lot of VERY unhappy customers.

Word is that existing units will continue to work however the planned new offerings (ala carte channels for example) will require new hardware.

And, unless buying for a Porsche, and wanting OEM head unit functionality - the basic hardware is relatively cheap.

Not seen mention of the NavTV Sirius unit on this thread ...definently worth a look and would be my first choice

I have talked about it before in other threads but the Navtv set up...is kick ***. Works flawlessly (after a bit of tweaking)...I have the ipod hookup as well and regret it as all I do is listen to sirius...works through the pcm as if it was stock...its GREAT.

I have the Cayenne Sirius unit in my car and it works great. 1400 sounds about right too.
