Unbelievable Experience at a Dealer Today
Unbelievable Experience at a Dealer Today
Hi all, I guess there is a first for everything. I have never posted a thread on a site before. I have been selling Porsche's for seven years. I never really listened too much to what was said on these sites mostly because its all opinion, but every once in a while someone needs to be called out for flat out lying. I have been lucky as a salesman not to have had the pleasure of dealing with Jon.. But over the years I have heard all the stories leading up to his visit Yesterday. First off yes Jon did buy a boxster from Newport Auto Center 10 years ago. Since then he has bounced through at least 6-7 salesman wearing each one out. He has taken numerous test drives. No exaggeration we are talking over 20 drives in the last five years. Not to mention the fact that numerous aggressive deals that we tried to accommodate him with never panned out. He would waste our energy and time and buy somewhere else. This is the car industry this happens everyday, thats not the point. Jon has shown no respect to our time. I have never seen anyone in my tenor make an art out what Jon has over the years. People are so quick to bad mouth a dealer when they don't know the whole story. Yes car dealers in general get a bad name from a few bad apples, it goes without saying. But as a customer there needs to be a certain level of respect. As a salesman we will provide test drives even if someone is not serious about buying the car. Its better for us just to go the Disneyland route than hear about bad press on here. But on the same token customers don't like buying a new 911 with 300 miles on it. Every once in a while someone like Jon takes it to a new level where he wants to drive a car just to listen to a sport exhaust that he is going to buy on Ebay. Unexceptable... I have been lucky enough to work at dealers on the east coast, where people actually come in to buy cars. Here I am a museum curator half the time. Which I don't mind, until someone like Jon slanders one of my colleagues and says he wants to slam his head of a 911 turbo. I know we are percieved as the bad guy, but there are 2 sides to every story. Your a class act Jon.
