Pioneer Porsche San Diego Experience
Pioneer Porsche San Diego Experience
Before I post my experience with this dealer, I wanted to know what types of reviews and experience other 6speeders have had with this dealership. Positive or negative.
I have had a few nasty experiences in the sales process and I was wondering if others have encountered the same thing. Servicing my 996 and my Cayenne has been great but the ridiculous events that have ensued with two sales interactions are unacceptable.
Sales is a hit and miss. My salesman doesn't even know me when I come in there. I've expressed interested in the GT3 and he never returned my call.
Since then, I've talked to other sales guys who seem to be less pompous and much more willing to provide a longer relationship.
Service is very good. Very helpful and on it. Had small issues but they've always fixed the problem.

The sales is the 2nd worst compare to B Hills.
Wasted me a lot of time.
They are not willing to deal with the list prices.
That few cars sit there for months with the same price.
I said to them, if you are going to agree with the price then I will come. And then they asked me to go in. (2 hours drive 1 way) When I get there; they said to me, "Buy it or leave it. We can put it in auction for a better price."
What do you think?

I agree with stom m3, sales is a hit and miss with them. Even though I bought a Cayenne from them and my RR from their neighboring store (go figure!), some of the guys in there have a pretty big chip on their shoulder and seem to have the "if you're not buying, don't bother me" attitude. I'm currently in the market for a cab and am seriously considering going out of state to purchase as they don't seem very flexible in terms of negotiation.

When I was new to looking for Porsches, a Pioneer salesman tried to snow me about a "Demo" vehicle. I kept asking over email if the car had been on a track, and he would respond with vague and evasive assurances. I had to practically cross-examine the guy on the phone to get him to admit that -- of course -- the car had been tracked, and may have tracked quite a bit at various events. I was just about to make a long drive to the dealer. At any rate, I felt that the person dealt with me in a dishonest manner and was trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. (I managed to find another CPO'd (non-Demo) vehicle for the price they had advertised for the Demo vehicle.) I would not buy a car from Pioneer under any circumstances.
I have been monitoring a couple of used 07 C2S cabs there since January. They are overpriced, and the pricing has not been reduced in 3 months. One is a 07 cab with X51, but no full leather or ***. In early January they were asking $99k, then they reduced it to $95k in late January, where it has remained ever since. I have gone there twice to just look at their inventory on a weekend afternoon, and not once has a salesperson approached me. While I preferred to be left alone, I'm surprised they didn't even enquire about giving me any help.
Second that... Chris Huck is the hit in the 'hit and miss'
I dropped by at the dealership about 10 times before I bought my car and he was always very friendly and helpful. He even called his contacts to help me with financing (something every salesguy should do but apparently don't).
He's also a very nice guy to talk to about everything besides cars.. you name it
I have no idea how the serv.dep. is since I only took the car in once for some small issues (covered by warranty) and they got to keep the car for a week since I was out of town.
No testing the cars but he must have known I didn't need to drive one to buy one... lots of friends with Pcars

1. you should learn how to negotiate to beat them at their game... if there's room for it of course without whining
2. they must have seen on the look of your face you wanted to be left alone, so what are you complaining about?
Thanks for the kind words Arling!
I'm always here to help with anything I can. (sale involved or not.)
And thanks to you too Dominique!!

I wasn't complaining. It was just an interesting observation I thought. I've had the same look on my face at other dealers, and they usually at least enquire to see if I want any assistance.
