Any tips on changing the wheels on a 997?

Is there anything I need to know about changing the wheels on my 997? I have access to a good hydraulic jack and a Snap-on torque wrench.

Thanks

That's all you need Set the jack and take most of the weight off the floor, slightly loosen each of the bolts, jack the rest of the way, swap wheels, tighten as best you can, drop car just so there's enough weight on the changed tire to be able to torque, torque in star pattern to 98 lbs, drop rest of the way. I have one of those garden benches on wheels to roll around the garage floor on when changing wheels - helps. I used to have an extra 19mm socket on a DeWalt cordless, but don't bother any more - I just pull the 19mm and extension off the torque wrench and hand loosen / tighten.

I bought the Michelin Low profile jack from Canadian Tire, it is a few hundred bucks, but it goes down to 3 1/2 inches and up to 18". Make sure you re torque your bolts after 100-150KM when the wheels are changed over.

I also would buy some thin disposable gloves, keeps the hands cleaner.

I made up a little wood device to approximate the Porsche jack . It fits in the saddle of my low profile NAPA jack and works like a charm for lifting the car. I have to order some wheel ahngers, Probably a great help in refitting the wheels and finger tigtenting the bolts.

Good point, I have two of these they make the job easy (so easy I forgot that I use them)

Here is the part number for the

Wheel Mounting Guide Bolt
