This is the link to download the Softronic software that will read and write to your car. Please download and install this.
Next after software install:
1. Plug in the cable to the USB and let the computer install it automatically. Should it ask if you want to, say yes and allow it. THIS HAS to be done just after the software is installed and before the program is run.
2.Plug the cable into the OBD2 port or also known as the diagnostic port.
3.Turn on the key.
4. Launch the software and after it reads and when you get to the "Comments " fill in if you want Sport mode, what year, model and trans you car has, manual or auto, name and email address.
5. The file will then upload.
6. Turn Off the key and unplug the cable, you may use the car until you receive the new files to tune.
6. I will then send you your files within 24 hrs or your tuner.
Should you not see a "Next" button at the bottom of the screen you will have to change the DPI from 120 to 96 or Normal

do you have pictoral illustration of this? where is the ports an stuff. I am thinking about doing this but I must admit that I am a computer idiot. I am a the person that the Geek Squad is getting rich from. Every time something goes wrong with my computer I pay them to come in just to press a button for $120. I'd like to upgrade but scared.
I'm now waiting for the Softronics folks to send me the tuned file, so I can do step two.

How Did It Go??
Mr B, I got my cable but no instructions.
Saw another post with some instructions and downloaded the Flash Client for Porsche. However I had to download something called .Net Framework 2.0.50727. This was a message I got in a pop up screen. I went to Microsoft to try and find this and I found.Net FX 2.0.5PL.x86.exe and I think I got it right but then I got a pop up screen saying there is an error and unable to load DLL DuraD2.dll HELP!!!!!
Anyway off to the garage to see what happens!

I'm especially interested in how the new Softronics flash worked for you.

This is my response from another board where a member questioned my trying to sell the Softronic software I won in the contest. The person stated he did not blame Scott for not allowing me to see it.
My response:
I do blame Scott. I won the software and there were no rules stipulating what I could or could not do with the software. I elected to sell it to another member for a minimal price. I found a buyer that was more than happy to do so. Scott decided not to allow me to do to. That is disingenuous for sure. If he wanted to limit it only to me he should have stated so in the rules.
Question: If you won a valuable door prize and could not use it would you donate it back or possibly sell it for a minimal price to someone that expressed interest in buying it from you? Try to answer this honestly.
So I have it, will keep it and it will go to waste.
As for Scott and Softronic, I have certainly lost respect for both and would not recommend anyone do business with them.

How many other sponsors do you see handing out $1000 worth of merchandise on 6speed???
It was a great idea and don't slam Softronic for not allowing you to sell their software that was a gift to begin with... If you didn't need it for your car why did you play the game???

Hmm...I participated in this contest and would have liked to win. I would have put the flash to good use like Mr. B and mdrums are doing.

I can see both sides of this. In my opinion I think Scott should give it to the next in line. I did not participate but I would like one for free. Heh, look at this as the American way, "If you dont have money,steal someone elses" Its all what we have been taught by our country. I love our country, but am tired of people that feel everyone owes them something.
