Is This Normal Pccb Wear On 997s?

When you say "OEM", could you be more specific, in terms of a Porsche part number?
I am of the understanding that there are specific brake pads made for PCCBs and that they really didn't wear out that fast.
I genuinely hope that Porsche replaces your rotors under warranty.

Gen 2 PCCBs are almost bullet proof according to what I've read. I've got them on my 05 997S; rotors and pads look brand new at 14K miles (no track time).
It looks like the replacement pads really tore up the rotors. Did you add the PCCBs or was the car equipped during factory build?
Keep us posted.

Not a Porsche problem, but a dealer problem.... good luck!

You don't need to drop 8 grand on a Brembo kit.I'm almost positive Brembo makes replacement steel rotors for your set up. Get the rotors and new pads and go tear it up. Search the archives, I have definitely scene someone post who and what they got for replacement rotors. Also, check the paperwork/invoice the dealer gave you after they replaced your brake pads and see if the part number for the pads is listed. That would be the easiest way to know what was on the car in the past year. If they put the wrong pad on, a wrong part number would be listed.GOOD LUCK.

Mike do you think that possibly the dealer sold and or installed the wrong set of pads? After dealing with 2 of my local Porsche dealers and buying parts from them and getting warranty service I would not put this past them.

Those are totally spent, this is a sad situation to see. It really does look as if the wrong pads were installed, but of course that can't be assumed until its confirmed. If they put the part numbers on the invoice they Should read 997 351 948 01 for the Fronts and 997 352 948 00 for the rears... if you see 997 351 939 03 OR 996 351 949 12 then a mistake has been made.
Good luck, I hope this turns out ok in the end.

I have been offered several options from Porsche concerning my brakes…
1- new ceramic rotors front (10K plus labor!)
2- changing all over to gt3 997 steel rotors (?cost not determined yet)
3- Trading in car but not a great option
4- Getting the new ceramics up front and get a miata for the track L
5- Just getting stock 997s calipers and rotors
Any way you see it , it sucks……but if I continue to track the car I think steel is the way to go ..don’t want to spend so much for rotors..
Your input would be helpful thanks…
