A Bad Thing for a Good Thing!
A Bad Thing for a Good Thing!
Hi Guys,
As you all know I've been waiting for my 2008 Carrera 4S since last Feb when I purchased it. Since then I never got contact from my salesperson because he quit the dealer and went elsewhere.
The expected delivery date was 1st week of June, last week I called my dealer to know what's happening with the car and they said they will get back to me.
The new salesperson who took my file over contacted me with unexpected news.
First he told me that when my dealer sent my car order to Porsche, they apparently refused the order because there were no more allocations availiable for the C4S 2008 being taken.
Then he told me the result of the fire in the plant pushed my production too foward, and also they informed me that Porsche stopped production a little earlier in order to accomodate the plant modifications for the new 2009 911 facelift model.
So here I'am in full summer weather with no Porsche car in my driveway.
My new sales person said they changed my order for a 2009 C4S, the problem the car will only get here in middle of October when winter is about to start.
I wanted to know from you Porsche fanatics what you been hearing about the 2009 model.
I will have to see with them about the price diffrence.
Is it true the screen is touchscreen and navigation is standard and also 30 horsepower more with Led lights.
I saw the new porsche the new Porsche websight, but I just wanted some feedback from you guys.
See you guys Enjoy your rides

You should consider yourself lucky. I think since they screwed up you will have major leverage on price- maybe even getting them to give you your originally promised price.
The '09's are a nice improvement: new PCM with touchscreen, bluetooth, nav, and ipod interface. Engine is direct injection with more hp, and PDK if you ordered tiptronic. Tail lights and front daytime running lights are LED. New front and rear bumpers are a nice update.

I would be happy about the new ones, a HP bump is a nice bonus for you, however at this point October is a long way away and within a few months you will endure the long winter. I would request that they loan you a Porsche for the summer until you new 09 Arrives, otherwise cancel the order and you will go and buy a car from someone else. I am quite certain that a C4S will be sitting at a dealer somewhere in North America.
Good Luck and sorry about the bad news.
