AWE cats + muffler bypass pipes = WOW

So this past month ive been busy putting on some of the parts that have been laying around.
I finally installed my X51 intake, looks amazing,
Put on my techart side skirts, looks even more amazing.
And got my AWE cats delivered yesterday and installed them shortly after

The car sounds and feels amazing. Might be insanely to loud for some of you, but I LOVE IT.
Im not too big of a believer in the butt dyno even though this time I can actually say the car feels like it has changed a bit with the cats and the intake together; I did a before and after run with my friends C5 Z06 and before the intake and cats it had me by about 2 cars and now were pretty much neck and neck.

I have the x-51 t-body and plenum sitting around which will go on as soon as I save enough money to purchase the runners and and have everything installed...

Video!!!! Would love to hear.

How do the cats (200 I assume) + bypass pipes work together with respect to low end torque? I love the sound and weight loss the bypass pipes provide, but do miss the low end grunt. Was wondering if cats would fix this....

Neck and Neck with a C5 Z06 is impressive!

I'm concerned about the loss of low end torque also, though. Any issues with this? How about any "check engine light" faults?

Thanks in advance,

I did this on my S as within a day I got pulled over for excessive noise. It probably was my fault as I was blipping the throttle every chance I got. I live in Playa near LAX and I didn't have those things on for maybe 3 hrs. before getting pulled over. I loved the way they sound..just didn't want to get pulled over anymore so I switched back to the AWE muffler's. Huge let down..

I have heared from some members awe( cats and mufflers ) + headers are still loud. what you think compare to the bypass. I'm installing the cats and don't know if I should go with bypass pipes or mufflers. I want it loud but sound nice at the same time

I originally had the X51 headers and AWE mufflers on the car and to be honest I didn't find it that much louder than OEM. It wasn't until I did the cats did the car really wake up both performance wise and aurally. I would love to hear the car with the Borlas, I think they are quite a bit more aggressive sounding than the AWE's.

I don't have the Porsche anymore as my brother assumed my lease on the car but he loves the way the car sounds with the AWE cats/mufflers and X51 headers. I offered to put the MBP on and he didn't want them.

Dave
