Question Who's got the earliest build date for an '09?

I've asked for a Sept slot (when they start PDK prodution).

Anyone have an order in for a 6 speed during July production?

Earliest I could get for the moment is Jan production for a PDK S...my dealer Braman in West Palm even asked the Porsche Sales rep today for an extra spot for me (we'll see what happens) as they are sold out through the end of the year. How were you able to get such an early build slot for a PDK car...are things that much slower up there than down here? I think alot of these local orders for the new 997 may never come to fruition...we'll see.

I also have a Sept. slot for PDK. In my case I was a pushy bastard, called the dealer where I had a deposit and complained to the sales manager about hearing that people had already ordered cars. That was a couple days after the press announcements.

I told him that as soon as an allocation for PDK was available call me, he called about a day later saying they had one Sept. allocation and I took it.

Sounds like October/November delivery for most people who order now. Is that correct?

My dealer said that I'd be taking delivery, "...before the end of the year." Which is soon enough for me so I didn't dwell on the details.

How'd you get such a good deal (10% off)? With the limited allocations on PDK right now it seems that will be tough.

Hi Alan.. who'd you use in NJ? My local dealer won't budge from list and quoted me a January build?

I'm not far from NJ

Thanks.... Ryan

I'm down for a 4S. I was told it should be sometime in Nov/Dec, but I should be finding out more soon.

A list formed down here some time ago for 09 PDK cars...I should have jumped on the bandwagon earlier. Either a car will break loose due to orders getting cancelled re the economy or the Porsche Sales Rep will come through for me. I really hate to get rid of my 07S as it has been nearly trouble free but just can't deal with the clutch in and out stuff etc etc anymore.

What issues are you having with the clutch?

I think he means just clutching in general (as in pressing the clutch in and releasing it).
