having sidemarker problems (wont snap back in)
having sidemarker problems (wont snap back in)
i plan on taking out my sidemarkers to change out the bulbs and so far i have changed the right sidemarker but cant get it to snap back in. is there any certain way you do it? it goes back in properly but just wont snap in and stay. need help ASAP... thanks

exactly. i don't recall breaking anything as it came out so i have no idea why the darn thing wont just snap back in
the metal part snaps back in but once the sidemarker is in place it doesnt seem too "stable" and still slides back and fourth. it doesnt come out though without forcing it though. i doubt i put it in the right way...
the back part of the sidemarker (with the metal clip) snaps back on - it's the front of the sidemarker that wont snap in. yes i know its sad that i'm having a tough time but i guess you can just call it a long day.

If they are like the 996, and I suspect they are, the front of the light has a tab on it that fits under the lip in the fender , then the back, with the spring J clip is pushed in and holds the light in place. You need to put the front of the light in first then push in the back. If you've broken off the tab on the front of the light you'll need to start over with new lights. If not, I'd follow DCI's advise and pull out the tab a little to increase the tension once it's in place.
