Dealer Dilemma
is this option on the order sheet? if so, porsche NA should correct it as you order and paid for it.
if not, you didn't order or pay for it and sales person just mistakenly told you incorrectly. honestly, all these wheels are not too dissimilar. if it was a big deal when you ordered, you should have known to check when receiving the car right?
not saying sales guy isn't liable. just saying that dealer isn't completely at fault here. everyone makes mistake you know and at least he admitted he did. how much is the difference between ordering a new wheel vs the option cost? i am sure if you got a new wheel, the dealer would be happy to put it in free for you. discuss this with the dealer mgmt.

There are several issues here:
-The salesman was not knowledgeable about the product. Rectifying an error in ordering ranges from difficult to impossible.
-The dealership did not stand up and try to correct an error they made.
-The US distributor, PCNA, did not stand up and correct an error made by one of their franchised dealers.
I would not use that dealer again for anything, they are untrustworthy. PCNA is another issue, they are notorious for being unresponsive and uncaring for almost any sort of problem. Unfortunately, we are stuck with them.
The whole problem could have been avoided if adequate point-of-sale materials had been available. There are very many options that are not well described and confusing to order. This issue is also the direct responsibility of PCNA.
PCNA needs to step up, be responsible and take care of this problem. They make a tremendous amount of profit on accessories and should do a better job explaining them to the customer.

This is exactly right imo. It sucks that the salesperson mistakenly said he had a different wheel, but it doesn't seem like a basis for a major complaint against PCNA or even the dealer. What matters is what the guy ordered and what he got. If the order sheet didn't describe the optional wheel, then I don't see why there is reason to get too upset.
(Also, FWIW, I don't see why the std wheel is all that bad.)
Firstly, I asked the salesman BEFORE the order was put in. I would think the salesman would've responded correctly. If you read my original post. he told me my car would come with "That one".which was a leather wrapped wheel with controls. If that wasn't correct, he had the obligation to inform me of my choices. After all, isn't that what an informed salesperson does? Educate and answer questions. As an agent of the dealer, he has responsibility for his answers. I could TOTALLY understand my liability had I not asked the question specifically.

You can say that professionalism and fairness ought to be an integral part of any car purchase . But it isn't and you learned it with a steering wheel .
Be good to yourself , enjoy that car. My vote goes to moving on .
