Do I really need the Sport Chrono package??

Aggressively looking for an 06 C2S. I know what I want for the most part. But do I really need the Sport Chrono package?? Does the "Sport" mode come without?

I say yes . Some say no . I used it often in my C2S and even moreso in my Turbo but even if you never use it I feel the optiion would never hurt resale . Lacking the chrono might .

I use the sport button every day.

The sport button only comes with that package.

I say yes. I only wish I could program my car to have Sport on as default but with PASM set to normal and only switch PASM to Sport if and when I want. I find myself always pressing Sport on and PASM to normal so that I can enjoy the PSE and the throttle response but not a harsher ride, unless I am at an entrance or exit ramp at a highway, when I put PASM to Sport to get a harder setting on the suspension. Once I am on the main highway, I turn PASM back to normal.

No. I have had both and don't miss the chrono at all. Without the chrono, the throttle response is more linear. Different story with the turbo where you get more boost but on the NA 997, I think it's a gimmick.

I don't use the lap timer, but I like the sport button. The SC also adds some extra functions in the PCM. I say it is a must have, especially on an S.

absolutely yes. You won't regret it. Now that I have it, I wouldn't buy another car without it.

I would say only on a Turbo where you get overboost. It's also where it might affect the resale.

You want more throttle response, step on it harder! If you have the PSE you will have a "sport" button, even without the sport chrono package. Just no ugly tumor on the dash.

My turbo had the sport chrono & I wouldn't get a turbo without it. My C4S does not have sport chrono & I wouldn't get a non-turbo with it. OK, maybe the 997.2 as it may actually be useful, but not the current 997.

A model with sport chrono package tend to keep it's value a bit better.
