Porsche is a clever car company and the most profitable in the car industry today!
So they know how to appeal to a wide range of buyers.
They have been very smart to retain their basic shape and to refine its abilities and capabilities.
I think it looks very nice, and I'll bet plenty more will as well.

The Ferrari guys are going crazy, because the new California will boost overall sales to 10,000 cars/year! They are afraid of losing exclusivity!
I can assure you Ferrari is thinking sales and profit dollars rather than exclusivity!
Porsche apparently thinks the same.
All car companies are about the $$$, dont kid yourselves otherwise. The product (porsche) has been dilluted for many years now. Nothing we can do about it and hey, at least the cars are still fun to drive.
That new Ferrari....looks terrible IMO. When an Italian marque copies Lexus for its exhaust design you have to ask whats the automotive world coming to?
On saying that its survival of the fittest in this economy / day and age. That means cars must appeal to a broader audience which is what we are going to see. oh, that and good old cost cutting (aka no more GT1 derived engines).

How can someone make a decision on the new motor being perceived inferior without even knowing the details or the performance? The GT1 block and the various incarnations have been around for a long time now. I think we can agree it may be time for something new, does not mean it will be worse.
They have been around now because they have been race proven, time tested designs capable of BIG hp (in reference to 700+hp TT's). The new one....not so much. Its blatantly obvious Porsche is introducing a cost cutting design. Does not mean it wont be as successful....but it aint no GT1.
So true and part of the reason Porsche is not in the poor shape of GM and a few others.
