Checked your horn lately?
Recently, someone in line ahead of me started backing up. Fearing they couldn't see me in their mirror, I honked my horn, only to find that it was about as loud as a motor scooter. (Luckily the car ahead of me stopped backing up before hitting me.) I took my car to the dealer this week to have them fix the horn (under warranty), since the lower toned horn wasn't working. The service rep told me that he has found about 20 to 30% of the horns on new cars don't work properly and have to be replaced (which requires removal of the front spoiler). If you're like me and don't use your horn too often, you may wish to test yours so it is there when you need it.

If yours sounds like a bicycle horn, it means your low tone horn isn't working and you're only hearing the high tone horn. It should sound like a regular car horn. I took mine to Newport Auto, and it was replaced under warranty.

To me the Porsche horn reminds me of how big American cars sound, or at least used to sound. It doesn't sound particularly European to me.
Too bad the old Porsche horn tone isn't available, think about what kind of an upgrade coast that would have!
Yeah, I'm surprised it isn't offered as a $500 option. I'm sure many of us would be suckers enough to pay that for it.
