09 Targa 4s, wut should I pay?
if I were to place an order for the upcoming 09 Targa 4s, wut would be a reasonable/fair offers to the dealer. The car with options is about $136K. 5%? 10% off MSRP?
Depends on the dealer... Targa is a rare car... I only got 3.5% off the price...
thx for the info, I was hoping to get a good deal consider the economy. btw, this might be a sounds OCD, the rear tires for the current targa 4s is 305/30, but I saw the specs for the 09 is 295/30, do u know if I can ask them to switch for the turbo wheels? which is 305/30?
Targa $S base is 100,100.00 $8Kin ceramic brake, maybe I should skip that...
For that price, why dont you just get the turbo coupe? As for the discount, i think any discount is reasonable because porsche is decreasing the amount of imports to the U.S. by 39%.
turbo coupe start at 130... I started w 4s... i keep going up, my wife might leave me ; } i really like the look of targa. I was wrong the wheels info, it is 305/30.

39%? wow, on 911 or overall, not surprise, there are lots ofcars on the lots
Just skipping the ceramics and the price of full leather alone is almost 12K and that's enough disparity to geta new Turbo for the same 136K .
If you love the Targa I would guess 3-5 percent but you will get slammed in resale . Most prefer a coupe or a cab and are very loyal to either and the mid point gets shunned in resale for those reasons coupled with the higher price .
I Love Targas but wouldn't get them.
It is so hard to sell, the resale value is terrible on them.
Get a conv. instead or just like all have said, used TT.
i have a friend selling a TT with 6k miles, let me know if u r interested.
CPO also i believe.

Porsche reducing car supply in the US will not get you a better deal on a new Targa; quite the opposite. They are limiting the supply to ensure stable prices; making just enough for the market. The a Turbo is an option, but it is not a Targa. If the unique features of a Targa, the hard-top, quasi-convertable, without storing a removable top, is what you really like (I like it myself) then there is no alternative. If you are buying the car for you, and not for what other people like or for resale or the next car down the road 5 years from now, then the Targa is an option. Given all that, there isn't a huge negotiating room. I've got dealers in my area, 3, which each have an allocation for 1 (one) Targa or TargaS in the next six months. They will not have 3 sitting on the showroom floor to sell, so there's not going to be leverage for a buyer to get extremely good deals.
Likewise, consider options. Todays used 911's in any form do not have some of the options for the 09's, so if those are important to you, a used car is not an option.

I haven't heard of any CA dealers that are discounting more than a couple % at the most on 09 orders. The US supply is drastically cut as metnioned before in this thread. Dealers don't need to give huge discounts. Furthermore, the price for a Porsche in the US is at least 20% cheaper (relatively) than any other country due to the weak dollar. It's a relative bargain to purchase a luxury car in the US today.
