What is A Incline Sensor in Porsche cars?

Hi guys, I am completely new here. I was searching around for information about the incline sensor equipted on Porsche cars from some magazine article I read a while ago.

I am wondering if this is something that works like the BMW Uphill Assist which will hold your brake for 2 seconds after releasing clutch.

Is this thing on 997 as standard feature?

Thanks guys,

I really appreciate your info

I think I read that this is something for the 09 997 where it should act the same as the bmw and audi hill assist for manual trannies.

I am going to test drive a 08 Carrera tomorrow and I will ask the salesperson for more information about this on 09's 911.

Hopefully, soon I will be joining P-car family.

Ferrari uses an incline sensor as part of the car's alarm system.

If the vehicle is lifted by jack or by hoist, it will trigger the alarm system.

Could be similar on Porsche.

Usually, the incline sensors for alarms would do the opposite (as mandated by law frequently) and that is, if the car is inclined above certain angle, the alarm would turn off. The reasoning is municipalities don't want car alarms wailing as the vehicle is being towed.

Not in the Ferrari.

This feature has to be manually disabled for the car to be towed.

Isn't that a scene from the movie twins with the Governator?

Yup.. I think Ahnold picked up a car's end to shut it up. I can imagine a whining Ferrari being drug down the road, kicking and screaming... too funny.
