Exhaust question again…. Witch muffles is the best for me..?

I am looking for new mufflers for my 997 Carrera S from 2005.

I want great sports sound, deep a bit laud sound is ok. I only use the car at weekends so It shod be sounding right…!

I was looking at B&B, Borla, and maybe Agency, but I think Agency don’t sound off much.

Also Fabspeed and AWE is on my mind,…!

What do you think is the best for me…. ??

You'll get many different opinions here. Maybe you can search youtube and the vendors websitesto play recordings of their exhaust systems sounds. I tried fabspeed, agency, and TUBI. I like Tubi the best overall. But AWE, B&B, speedart, and others make very good systems. If you want it real loud, swap out the stock cats and exhaust with a sports exhaust.

Kenn,

Chosing a muffler is like chosing a woman! There are many styles, many pros & cons, and many "fitments"!!!

Do some research, as suggested look for sound clips, and better yet try to hear cars with the actual products installed.

Take your time.

Kenn, I agree. You need to find the proper "fitments" with a "free flowing" pipe. Preferably one that doesnt "choke" the exhaust

Kenn should also keep us "abreast" of his finds.

And Kenn be careful driving because in the Fall there are many "swallows" close to the ground!

Well, everyone knows what my answer is.. LOL

www.afterhoursautomotive.com
These mufflers rock, period. They are of course on the loud and showy side, but they do also increase performance per my experience with them. I don't think you can beat them for the price- $50 discount if you say you are a forum member, call and ask for Brian.

Videos of them on my 996 are here: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...9D4B22DB1E5767, and there are a few members here with them that could also offer an opinion.
My 997 set of AH mufflers WAS going to go on this weekend.. but... gf wants to drive down to San Diego in the pcar... I'll have to wait until mid-week now.. grrrrr..

either way... make sure you don't end up with an exhaust that "blows"

Tanks for the replies.

I did do a lot of research and this side, you tube and all the company that makes mufflers. But still I am not sure witch one……. Borla Exhaust systems I think would be great, but of what I can read on this side, they can not delver. ..!!

I think I am going for Fabspeeed or AWE… some of you have experience with one of them..??

The one from www.afterhoursautomotive.com and bypass will be to laud I think…..

Kenn

The AH mufflers will be louder than any of the regular can mufflers, but I also found them to be decent inside the car for daily use. Outside the car they are not as loud as bypass pipes (video). Bypass pipes will be very loud inside the car as well as outside.

Maybe try Cargraphic? Thy make several versions ranging from mild to loud, and they are known for their quality / sound.
