Vf/Evoms Sc w/Gt3 front bumper Help

It looks like my Oem Gt3 front bumper needs to be modified because the front vent won't clear the pump for the 3rd radiator. I was told the VF kit utilizes the oem porche 3rd radiator but I guess they use a different pump of some sort. I haven't seen it yet but, that's what I was told by 911 design. They lowered the pump as much as they could but said they couldn't get it to fit. An option, I was told was to just shave the front vent down and glue the front vent to the bumper. Only problem with that, I'd have to break my carbon vent off if I ever need to repaint my bumper. Anyone have this problem? Also what other options are available? I'll try to get some pics of it.

Here's a pics from Vf on the Sc install. I thinks it's the black thing on top of the bumper support that's getting in the way of the Front vent. Anyone have a pic of a stock 997 or stock gt3 without the front bumper?

That's the coolant tank for the intercooler that sits behind the bumper bar. I have a carbon vent on my GT3 cup bumper and everything fits. Give Karl a shout at Imagine Auto (a board sponsor). He can help answer your questions.

You beat me to it 58. What he said about the coolant tank. The pump should be underneath.

Just got off the phone with Imagine Auto, was told that the oem vent would fit but a carbon one would need to be shaved down. The Carbon piece that I bought from GMG would have to be shaved so much that I wouldn't be able to screw it in, I'd have to have it glued in to place. The Gmg piece looks a lot beefier than the Oem pieces. Anybody have any more suggestions? The Resevoir tank takes up the entire space on top of the Bumper support.

after shaving the GMG CF piece, cant you just glue in some brackets to the CF piece and the inside of the bumper? when its time to repaint, just unscrew the CF piece from the brackets

Thanks, but 911 design said that the vent is just barely touching the tank. There wouldn't be any room to make some sort of fastening brackets. I'm probably going to have to glue it. I spoke with Vf about it, and they told me that the vent or bumper would need to be modified to get it to fit. I've seen pictures from the other 6speeders with a gt3 bumper and SC kit. I'll try to find out if Vf changed the tank from the Evoms kit.

How come gt3s don't have the coolant tank for the middle radiator, or was it just removed from Daytonaviolets picture.

The kit is designed to fit a 997 S and non S.

We did not design the kit for the GT3.

This would explain the fitment issue.

Any good body shop should be creative enough to have a fitment solution.

Thanks Delius,

It's really a non issue. I just wondered what the other guys with Vf sc's and gt3 bumpers did. The kit is well engineered. I just like the look with the gt3 bumpers.

IIRC, it was just the center part of the bumper/grill that I had to modify slightly in order for it to fit. I do not recall it being a difficult fitment at all when I did Rick's bumper. It has been awhile though, and lately everything seems to run together on projects I have done in the past, lol.

I'm using a MISHA GT3 front bumper and center vent with a TPC SC kit & 3rd radiator. All fit without any body work.
