clear tape question?

i have a white 911 c4 cab. the clear tape in front of the rear wheel is yellowing. is there any reason why i should not pull it off other than the rock chip protection?

I have heard that some people have the dealer replace this under warranty. Another option is to find a 3M clear bra installer and get them to replace it (at your cost). The last option is to remove it, you will get some rock chips in that area over time.

Yeah the factory film seems to yellow fairly quickly. I have replaced many of those with paint protection film... shouldnt cost you much. But worth protecting it. The factory doesnt put it on there for nothing.

Another alternative is to replace it with something non-clear... such as black protective film... for that more retro look, if thats your thing.

Mine was yellowing so I pulled it off. I have yet to get a rock chip from street driving. I just tape that area when tracking the car.
