H & R spacers Need Help!!!

Hello Everyone,

I just picked up the Bilstein Damtronics And H & R Sway Bars from Dan at Vivid (thx for the hook up bro). I have the 2008 C2S with 19" Turbo Wheels 8x19 fronts (235/35ZR19 pS2) and 11x19 rears (295/30ZR19 ps2). I will be getting the H & R spacers but the golden question is which size spacers? and how long of the bolt do i need? Also will i have to change out my lug nuts? And if i can get some infor as to what height to lower and how neutral or stiff to attache the sway bars??? Thanks in advance. Its a DD and i have no plans to track it yet?

The 'standard' lug bolt has a shank of approx. 30 mm.

Here's the 'typical'. If you add 15 mm spacers on the rear you need at least 45 mm bolts. If you add 7 mm spacers on front you need at least a 37 mm bolts. Of course off the shelf bolts don't come in those exact lengths so get the nearest one (on the long side).

I believe the rule of thumb is to have a minimum of 6 to 8 threads in the hub for safety purposes (I might be a bit off here). Hopefully someone will pipe in w/ the correct number.

+1

But I think that the Turbo wheels might have a different offset when compared to a other stock C2S wheels. You may be at the outside of your fenders now.

BTW enjoy your Damptronics and Sway bars, they are awesome.

I think you're right about turbo wheel offsets! I was thinking he had lobsters. I failed to read the post correctly.

On a narrow body (ie. 997 or 997S) the turbo wheel might already sit flush w/ the fender edge and thus no spacer is required.

Do a search or ask around the various forums for the answer. There are plenty of narrow bodied 997's w/ turbo wheels.

The bolt length question is simple. Just add the spacer width to the existing bolt length (shank only) and you've got the length required.

Good Luck . . . . . . .

first of all thx again guys! i guess the best bet is to put in the bilstein, sway bars, and get a better idea if i would need the spacers if any then go from there. One more question should i lower the front more then the back?

If your C2 came with the Turbo wheel option you probably already have the correct offset since Porsche does make a narrow body version of the Turbo wheels. Usually vendors who sell spacers (like Wheel Enhancement) will sell you the correct size bolt.

Not sure what size spacers you were considering but go to these links and you'll see spacers and lug bolts. You probably won't find wheel locks though, which is no big deal since if someone wants your wheels, the wheel locks probably won't help.

Have your installer install them to ROW height. I had mine set to that height, works really well.

He meant "Rest Of the World" settings. I think it's 20mm drop along with the accompanying alignment settings. Correct me if I'm wrong NorthVan
