RE: Alan Gun Leather mentioned above.
I did use them to re-wrap the steering wheel in one of my old Supras: I sent it in (during winter - i wasn't driving the car anyway) and they replaced the leather. It was already a thick rim wheel so I didn't have them make it any thicker, just the original leather had dried out / cracked and made the interior look much older than it was - so I wanted it replaced.
Now this was a few years back (so things may have changed) but I did receive great service from them. The wheel looked brand new - the leather was perfect. The guy I dealt with on the phone seemed to know his stuff and he made sure they had the right pattern and everything ready to go before he told me to ship my wheel to them.

The thicker = less feedback thing makes sense, but I liked the thick rim wheel I had on that old Supra. Just not sure how far I'd go / how much I'd spend / quality I'd risk to change out the stock wheel on my 911.

I agree. The stock "plastic" wheel that came on my 08 C2S felt like driving a 20K car. I bought the XPA and it's much nicer. If anyone wants a brand new wheel to send out to get wrapped, mine in available for $250 OBO. PM me. Thanks

This is the way to go...we just did this wheel for a customer in Florida. This is a GT3 RS wheel in alcantara with a yellow ring, and red stitching.

Does the colored ring have a purpose or is it just for looks?

How do you like the paddles? I just got a quote from them on a multi-function w/paddles.

Arzo: love em -work well and feel natural. I'm not too happy with the horn button placements as I sometimes honk while shifting....
