Took My Breath Away
Took My Breath Away
From the 997 to the Murcielago, all in one day.
Allan from Jack Daniel’s Porsche invited me along with Erik & Hershel to the unveiling of the 997 this past Saturday. So I invited the rest of the 6pack
In attendance was, Tony (TonyNJ), Ken (KPV), Sean (Sean) and his son, Joe (BADBOYJOE) and his Lady Lisa, Hershel (HZ@Cargraphic), Erik (Erik@Cargraphic).
We get to Jack Daniel’s and on the floor stands the 997. No test -drives available, so for now, it’s only about the look. Some things I liked, some I didn’t. I’ll just have to wait to take it out. It was great to see Allan again, and visit his beautiful dealership.

It was a beautiful day so some of us were itching for a drive
We decided to go and grab some lunch at TGI Fridays on Rt. 17. Lets just say its always an adventure with this crew on any road
By the way, all pictures were taken by Ken (KPV)
Noses in:

Tails Out:

After lunch everyone decided to drive over to Lamborghini of Bergen County, as Ken said “For Dessertâ€.

While I was there I was able to get some drive-bys of the Gallardo with the Cargraphic Exhaust on it ….. Sweet!
(I will add them to the thread “Have Murci On Meâ€)
So everyone is having a good time looking at ALL the eye candy, the next thing I know I’m walking outside with the key in my hand to a titanium Murcielago. Yes, this time I had the key! I patiently waited for Steve to put the dealer plate on

Once in the car Steve gave me a brief run through so I could adjust the mirrors etc. My next question before I start the V12 beast, “Do I have to stand on the clutch, is it driver friendly?†He said “lets goâ€. I started it and was ready to take this car on. We pulled out of Lamborghini Bergen County, and I attempted to take it all in.
Me Driving

The impressions that were left with me:
The feel of the clutch… it was like butter
The gated shifter… (Snick- Snick), I loved it!
Looking in the side view mirrors and seeing the intake pods, just amazing….
The comfort factor over all - Perfect!
The harmonic sound of the V12 behind me
The grace and ease of moving from lane to lane at 130MPH on route 17
Only two things I would do:
Cargraphic exhaust, I think stock is too quiet.
Camera for the rear view. The rear window is bigger then earlier Lamborghinis, but still leaves you wanting bigger. 6.0 se had a camera fabricated into his SV wing that he put on his Murcielago, now I truly understand why
Bottom line, I truly enjoyed the Lamborghini Murcielago, this car didn’t have any of the exotic quirkiness like other exotics I have experience in the past, except for the rear window.
The car truly took my breath away, so intoxicating. It left me with wanting more. I truly need to add this car to my HUGE stable of one

Joe, I did invite you out for the 997. You declined because you were able to test drive and see it last Thursday. The Lambo experience was not planned I'm Sorry

That's OK - I guess the invite went over my head. Every time I talk to you I am doing 18 things at the same time.
That car, the Murc, looks like an alien spacecraft going down the road. It only gets better when the intakes hinge open. Simply breathtaking!!
Michele, you are one lucky girl!!!

As far as the 997S, well......
The seats are wonderful, the top half of the dash is nice, the bottom half of the dash looks like it belongs in an Acura, the door pulls are 993-ish, the rear is gorgeous, the rear bumper to quarter panel seam is beautiful and a favorite deisgn element of mine, the hips are great and very 993-ish but the I can't get past the nose.
All in all, it is VERY apparent that the 993 influence abounds. This is both good and bad.
