Stacy, you should put the wheels on and take it out this weekend! Could be the last weekend to drive it.

BTW, nice to see you painted the walls in the garage.

Too late...wheels/insurance are off!
Yeah I wanted the garage to be like the rest of the house and NOT like a typical garage. All that is in there is my car,a stereo and artwork!

Nothing quite like having a salt truck pass you with the spinning applicator throwing salt from top to bottom/front to back all over your car... The sound is one you don't soon forget...
So... as long as you're off the road and love to tinker with your car then detailing it is one of the joys of ownership... I wish I was capable of doing it to the extreme but I can't... but what I do to clean the car roll eyes will still be considered ****....

All cars ARE a depreciating assets...BUT like some owners enjoy tracking/driving the wheels off of their cars...I get the same enjoyment from cleaning and modifying them!
As the saying goes.....To each their own....at the end of the day we ALL enjoy the car one way or another!
Judging from your statement you have the best of both worlds,LOL!
Clean and driven!

Cheers,

Stacy

Justatoy, I love detailing my cars but I think you set the standard for other 911 owners. I too love the personal challenge of driving my cars hard and at the same time keeping it in showrrom perfect condition. I take very good care of the paint and interior, the one aspect that I do tend to ignore is the undercarriage. What do you do to clean this area regularly ?

I hope I do not set any kind of standard for Porsche owners......BECAUSE I do not drive my car,LOL!
AND even though I know they should be driven.......I just don't have the desire!
I just like having a toy! and that is obviously WHY my name on the forum is 'Justatoy'

As far as the undercarriage..........
Because I do not drive it in the rain....it really only gets dusty, except for the occasional puddle or wet spot on the road that I CANNOT avoid!
But for cleaning it...
I use a simple de-greaser in grungy spots and simple green cleaner every where else along with a spray wax to top it all off......OH and lots of elbow grease!
Understand THAT I do this to kill the winter season...I do NOT have issues,LOL!

Stacy, you've set the bar for OCD Porsche owners. I'm amazed.

Tell that to the folks who bought a Shelby Cobra back in the day. Although for the most part all cars are depreciating assets a smart car buyer is capable of being very positive on the loan. I have done so with my past 2 cars it it enabled me to step up each time to a nicer car since I owed far less than it was worth (and that was not with a any type of large down payment either).

On the detail sid eof things...

I wish I had the time and ability to clean my car as much as you do. It looks amazing all year round. Next step for me in a winter car so I can stash this one away and do a good top to bottom like you do, nothing would make me happier!
