The dealers don't know ****, they want people buyg S's notwaiti fo turbos. Porsche's a public company and the turbo is their highest margin car, no way they will delay it more than a year.

They need to roll out Cab, C4, C4 Cab, GT3.....and Turbo..........Targa?
I'm not saying this is the order, but.......historically the Turbo has followed most...... and rarely more than 2-3 models launched /yr.

Porsche knows Porsche buyers like instant gratification. So, those that need will buy a 997S now... then next year they'll (wow!) come out with a 997 C4 -- and that person will sell the S and get the C4 -- then will come the Turbo, Turbo cab, etc etc. They want Porsche buyers to want a new one every year or two -- not every time a 99x is released. So I would DOUBT we'll see a turbo in the US for at least 2 years, and I doubt we'll see a GT3 for 4 more years (could be 998 by then).
As soon as the margins begin to thin on the 997's (i.e. discounts which lead to dealer holdback, etc, etc,) Porsche will be out with a new model, whether it's GT3 or Turbo, etc. The timing is not ixed, it is subject to sales performance of existing models, and at the 997's high price point I believe discounts will start sooner rather than later.
I agree, they will not wait more than a year. Porsche makes almost 50% profit on every turbo they sell. I say we will at least have official pics within the next 12 months, with maybe late 05 delivery or early 06. As far as dealers, they do not know ****. They do not find out a thing until 24 prior to the car being released to the public. At that time PCNA mails all dealers the same pics that we saw probably a month before.
The current marketing of Porsche is the slickest yet, they know the importance of keeping the model range 'fresh' and constantly in all the motoring mags..new model release every 4-6 months and im betting the TT will be out for delivery just either side of Xmas '05.Also a huge push for the launch of the boxter coupe to get it established fast.It worked so well with the Cayenne these guys could market ' Porsche' ice to the eskimos!
