New Mods: LSD and LWFW
Ed I really will need a ride in this car, maybe even at the track(if allowed).I need to feel what these cars perform like when pushed!
Can't wait to see it!
Stacy
PS I need to find out who your mechanic is,if you would be willing to share?

Passengers at the track are not allowed. I think the best way to see how well our cars perform is to bring yours out to Mission (rain or shine), the first time I went, I was amazed at how well the 997 performs. With a few mods it is a monster that car that accelerates well, brakes very well, and corners like it is on rails. With a few mods, it is a very fast car on the track. The LSD and LWFW will allow me to get more exit speed from the corners.
As for my mechanic, I use Weissach, they are really good to deal with, and know what is good and what is not going to work.

Yes I looked at that one as well Lawrence, and after discussions with a few people that know a lot about these came to the conclusion that the Quaife was a good LSD for both street and track usage. I then came across one for saw one at a price I couldn't say no to.

Since you are doing the LWFW, what about upgrading the clutch??
Stacy: Attend some of the autox, they do allow passenger. Track is the way to go.
Not sure how long I will have it, but I will enjoy it every moment that I drive it. I doubt that I could keep up with a GT3 though, they are awesome cars and they are very fast.
Still at the shop, the snow at my house is going away finally. I should be able to bring it home, tomorrow or Thursday. Stuart at Weissach drove and he was very impressed with the way it felt. Definitely not a stock C2S now!
You are going to post RIGHT AWAY once you have driven the car?
Looking forward to a ride ?
I will need to see if Stuart could install my LSD also, still trying to decide on the LWFW though.

In my opinion the LSD and LWFW are mods that should be done at the same time. However with the SC I am not sure you would want the quicker revs that a LWFW offers. I would ask Jared what he ran, and if he thought that the car needed the LWFW.
Talking about makes me want to go take the car out...damn winter!
Yes I will let you know what I think ASAP, and I can't wait to get back into the Porsche.

I know on the track about the only time you guys see first is at the start of the race and for the taller gears the LWFW would be nice but for the street you use first ALL the time and the LWFW may be a waste of money, for me.
Yeah Jared had the LW package.I am just thinking when I put my LSD also if I should do the extra mod.I don't want the any vibration or too much noise, after all my car is just a sunny day driver(if I ever will drive it again),LOL !
My goal for this year is to put 3,000 KMS on it !
Looking forward to your review

I had a nice conversation with Rhonda as well. She was very informative. I purchased the FVD LWFW for a 997S and absolutely recommend it. I was very concerned that it would be too loud but it is almost silent. It completely changes the way the car revs. Just feels way more responsive less sluggish if i may at lower RPMs. I haven't yet pinned it as i have a new 08 motor put in by the dealer and am waiting for it to get worked in. I recently drove a friends bone stock 06 C2S and it felt like night and day compared to mine. NorthVan you are gonna love it. Any downside to the LSD on the street? How can i findout if my car has the factory installed LSD? It was an option right?

The first generation 997 didn't have a LSD option. It is available on the second generation 997. I am not aware of any downsides to a LSD. The service manager at the shop that did the work on my car, drove it and thought that these mods totally improved the way the car drove. I should be picking it up today or tomorrow, and taking it for a short drive. I am glad that you are enjoying your LWFW, and Rhonda is great. I told her that she should be more involved on 6 speed, she agreed.
