New Mods: LSD and LWFW

Ordered the next round of mods for my car, bought a Quaife Limited Slip Differential and a FVD Light Weight Fly Wheel.

This will give me a much quicker car exiting the corners.

If I had a lift and no job, I might give it a try. Unfortunatly I have one but not the other. This will be done by the shop that does most of the work on my car.

I bought the LSD from a private party (new), and the LWFW from Rhonda at FVD. I contacted Rhonda about the O2 Sensor extensions, and got on to the topic of the LWFW and she made me a great deal that I couldn't say no to.

Both parts combined $1600 shipped, the install will be about $1000.

I think this mod is going to be awesome, I have researched these parts and they seem to be a perfect fit for my requirements.

Blaktout has these mods as well as every other mod that can be added to a 997C2S, he speaks highly of them.

Quaife is a TBD. Have you look into Guard LSD assuming you want to optimize your car for track?

No just the AWE mufflers blowing up..

If they do go bad I would consider cutting those out and going with the 100cpi from FVD.

Yes I looked at that one as well Lawrence, and after discussions with a few people that know a lot about these came to the conclusion that the Quaife was a good LSD for both street and track usage. I then came across one for saw one at a price I couldn't say no to.

Dynamic balancing is crucial on any motor. The flywheel is a primary component of the rotating assemblies. Has to be balanced with other components at time of engine assembly.

Raby knows what he is talking about, he is the real deal when it comes to engine development.

I think there was a similar post in the GT3 forum here, I asked my shop about this and they told me that they will make sure everything is working fine (they are not hacks, they do a lot of engine work and have done a number of LWFW in 996's and 997's).

I know that there are risks to any mod, and I think that I am going to be fine. If not then I guess I get to rebuild my engine.
