Nobita is infamous around these parts
exactly! But they must have seen that the front bumper was not drilled....

I ordered the kit for the front plate, but it may be too late to save this ticket. I think i'll just end up paying this one, and keeping the kit for a rainy day.

no way...don't pay the ticket..take it to the nearest cop/chp and explain that the plates haven't arrived yet and the dealer is going to put them on..then go on your merry way...

Thanks for clarifying it. SF **** parking maids are everywhere. I never park on the street. Heck... they are talking now about a congestion fee and if that happens I may never reenter the city for what I care.

Given that your car is new (no plates) I would fight the ticket.

Does California not have temporary plates that you put in the back window while waiting for the permanent plates? If so, those should be all that is required.

No temp tag, just the temp registration that is taped the the passenger side of the windshield.

Yup, this is the only way to do it.

The ticketing party probably ran the VIN, saw a plate was a assigned (saw it wasn't affixed to the car) and wrote the ticket.

There is no way for the DMV to prove plates were delivered to you, so the "my plates haven't arrived yet" argument is your best bet.
