Post the details of your car...year....mileage
Could be your clutch is worn or maybe the master cylinder or nothing at all !

Yes, I have noticed this happens to me when the car is cold. Many other members encounter this issue.

Pretty standard until the car is thoroughly warmed up.

It's normal. Comes and goes for me. It's more common with the factory SSK cars. While at a light/stop sign, with clutch depressed go to second then first and release. After the car warms up it'll go away. If it's happening even after warm up, book an appointment with the stealer, have em adjust the linkage/cable something of another (forgot the term). Someone will correct me withiin the hour lol.

Whether it's 38 degrees or it's 92 degrees, I just put my car into D and I drive away.

I guess that I'm just one of the lucky ones.

Why is the car out of first gear to begin with? The solution is to simply drive the car properly by putting it into first gear before you stop and keeping it there.

Mine does it too and I was told they all do. My recollection is that it's something to do with the triple cone synchro for first gear (but I might have just dreamed that).

I understand what you are saying, but there are some LONG lights here in ATL, and after a couple minutes with my left leg fully extended, it's just easier to put the car in neutral until the light turns green again. At which point my right leg is fully extended on the throttle!

Why do people just accept that a problem they might have is OK because others experience the same thing?

The fact is, you should have no difficulty shifting into 1st gear while stopped....PERIOD. Either you are not pushing hard enough or there is a problem that Porsche is required to correct. This is the purpiose of the syncros. If you can't get it into 1st no matter how hard you push, it is not normal, no matter how many others have the problem.

I suggest you all train first gear by pushing it hard to get it into gear. It will not grind and it will become easier as you use it.
