Sometimes yes, but I'm not much of a jack-rabbit-start driver. The problem I'm referring to tends to happen when pulling off gently as in normal pulling away from a traffic light or stop sign. It's happened maybe 10 times total in 3800 miles.

When I test drove an 09 S PDK it had the herky jerkies a few times when in auto mode and at very slow speeds...nothing a software fix shouldn't be able to correct (one would hope )

My car does it all the time for the first 5 min or so. If you double clutch it before going into 1 it should slide right in. It works on my car.

You very fortunate yours only does it when cold...mine is hard to get into first even when hot sometimes.

Mine is balky into first when cold. It's also reluctant to go into 2nd when really hot (track days)

Was thinking about changing tranny fluid to see if that might help and the recommended mileage was something crazy like 120K?!?

Blasphemous - but I like my S2000 gearbox/tranny better.

Mine is the same when cold. Fine when warm. Over the years I've had several different types of cars that are the same, particularly Alfa's. By slipping it into a higher gear first I've always thought I stop the box turning so it goes into first easier then. Sound reasonable?

Funnily I actually find these odd quirks nice things about these sorts of cars......
