Usually when I drive into the garage get out of the car I can pretty clearly see if I left my lights on.

Also, when I'm driving from day/night I don't forget to turn my lights on, I'm surprised this made three pages. I'm of the opinion, who really cares.
I was trying to say that we don't need auto headlights..

Raising a thread from the dead, does anyone know if you can program the headlights to come on when unlocking the car?

I would not do it, knowing how the starter needs every little bit of juice and volts you can give it, to crank the engine. Besides, I do not think it is possible. You have the HOME function for that.

You should already have that capability - it's in the manual under "Welcome Home Lighting"

The lights are turned on for approx.
30 seconds when the vehicle is unlocked.
The lights go out if the ignition is switched on
or when leaving the Welcome Home lighting.

Good afternoon gentlemen,

There is a solution for 911 997, Boxster and Cayman 987 and CAYENNE 955 and 957.
I run it on my 997 TT; installed in minutes and almost invisible.

its called PALS, check autolightsystems com website.

Cheers
