Auto start on 6spd 997?
Unless Porsche has changed the cluch switch design and location, it's a simple override. All you need is plastic tie. Beyond that you'd just need to make sure when you park the car you always left it out of gear. However, I have read, even in the the Porsche manual itself, that it is not good to let the engine idle for any length of time partly for environmental reasons and partly for reasons of engine wear given the lower oil pressure at idle.
It would be foolish to install a remote starter in a manual car by bypassing the clutch switch only. More safety measures would have to be implemented such as a transmission neutral switch to make sure car does not start in gear as well a a time limiter for shut off.
Maybe a simpler and safer method would be to get off your *** and go out and turn the key yourself?
