Not a for sale, this isn't my car - just came across it on Fleabay, No Reserve. Wow, is the market this soft???? If I was anywhere near CA (I'm not despite my screename, left a long time ago) I'd check it out and buy it.

The seller is new and has no rating. Unless you call him and go by and give him the money and get the clear title, I wouldn't touch it.

Could be a scam

That's just the starting bid - who knows where it will end up...my guess bids will be rejected until he gets the price he wants.

I thought the C2S came stock with aluminum (white) gauges. First time I've seen one without them.

Different colour gauges can be a custom order.

Fellas,

That is not his asking price...simply the starting bid! He has no buying option listed so it is unkown what he is actually hoping to get for the car.

big ticket for a seller with zero (0) feedback. Bidding ends Feb 16 (who knows what the final $$$ would be by then).

black gauges are a no charge delete on order ( OEM on non-s cars of that vintage) for S cars.
I wish I had em. Like the nostaglic look. I guess I am just OLD...

Starting bid is not ask price but is indicative of closing in the high 50's .That's the least he needs to get to make the tax on his trade lost in private sale worth his time going into the Tubo.
Plus its a non cpo car . No rating. Risk.

risk/reward

Risk, maybe, but there is a lot you can do to minimize your risk, and at or around that price, makes it well worth it.

If I was in the market, I would take a hard look at this car the mileage and price, and the motivations of the seller - plus posting lots of photos, and phone number, etc would get me to take a much closer look.

This is a lot safer way to buy a car than through the classifieds in my opinion - you can use a service like escrow.com to broker the exchange of $$ and title so you really minimize the things that can go wrong.

Looks like an excellent deal on a great car to me!

My C2S was ordered with black dials (Option 022) at no cost. I rejected the silver/white dials on the C2S as too ricer.

Some one in the San Fernando Valley area should go look at this car and report the findings. $48K for a 2007 997S w/ low mileage is a very good deal. It looks like manual seats and no NAV. No biggie.

Why do folks think it's going to sell for $48K
