shift boot fell off... cant get it back on!

My shift boot fell off of the top of the shift **** and its bugging the hell out of me! I cant seem to figure out how it locks back on. I thought it was a 90* turn to lock it in, but then the stitching does not line up. Can anyone give me insight on this?

forgot to mention that there was a SSK installed and that is why this fell off... along with an airbag light! I dont want to go in and ask for them to fix the boot and then tell them to fix the airbag light because they will know it was directly related to the SSK. I want the boot to be fixed first so there is nothing suspicious to lead them to believe that the installation is what caused the light to go on.. you know?

I had a similar problem. I took the boot and shift **** off and then re-attached the boot to the shift ****. Turned out the plastic cuff at the end of the boot had come a little loose. I used a dot of hot glue to re-attach the cuff to the boot and then the 90deg turn method to attach the cuff back to the ****. Then I installed the whole thing again.

How does the leather boot clip in? I found the instructions, but they are pathetic... they dont show you anything, very generic
