Current 996 owner looking to getting into a 997. I liked the color combo, also this time I want to go tiptronic.

Thoughts about pricing?

That, right there, is one GORGEOUS car! For you, I'd just wish it had heated seats... in a convert it's nice to have.

But it's fully optioned.. I think $60k in this economy gets it.

Good luck!

There's an awful lot of pricing threads the past few weeks; check them out and then see if you still think 60k is reasonable for a car that's about out of warranty. (check out gjnockie's thread below)

I think that two factors push down the price on that car:
a) its an automatic
b) the grey top. - Seriously. Grey top not as popular as black.

Key question: what is the warranty in service date? It could be out of warranty today, or next year. That matters alot.

I think 65 is asking a lot for a private sale with more than 10K mi and no CPO . Plus cobalt is out of production, so is Tip . 57 and not one cent more.

I'm with the yrralis1. High $50's max., $60k is an awfull lot for a 2006 in today's market. I think you'll find that there is a decent discrepancy between asking prices and selling prices. Go with the '07 as you'll take a smaller hit on depreciation.

I do like the cobalt -I can't see him paying more than your car for a Tiptronic and one year older .

I have a question --why sell it?
It looks nicely optioned , well kept yet has been for sale for awhile . It seems like you have driven it a few miles since you listed it which implies that you are enjoying it . Obviously it's not in the shop . You've already taken the biggest depreciation hit . If you keep it another two years it will stil be worth upper 40's and might even be easier to sell .

If your car is as flawless as claimed in your ad -meaning it passes a few basic tests- like DME scan / paint bodywork then I think your car is worth some of these buyers looking at .

Why not keep it?

no, perfect car with no problem whatsoever....
Yes, may want to keep it.... fighting about it....but the Lambo I like is also pretty cheap now

Ditto. I've been looking at '06 CPO C2S (most in the low $60's) and everybody's willing to deal. They basically ask, "Where do you care?" Not ready to pull the trigger just yet; think the market's coming my way...

You may be new BIG997, but your thoughts are much more realistic than many of us current owners who hate to admit our jewels become less valuable each hour as the probable results of the Stimuless Plan become more apparent. The nice thing about Porsches and a few others is that if you find something you like at a price you are willing to pay then go for it; if my mental makeup is such that I'm going to fret too much about saving another $3,5,7k then maybe I should have bought a Miata or Solstice, plus I'll have a heart attack the first time a dealer rapes me for a service item.
