how much to install a LWFW?
Rear main seal ( I think). BTW. Not to highjack the thread NC. BUt what are everyone's experience with the LWFW. Does it decrease the bottom end? I would think It would be great for the track with the engine spooled up.

I actually was thinking of doing the LWFW as well.....just not sure yet!
I just figure while they are in there installing the LSD...why not do the LWFW ?

im kind of in the same boat... i just found a killer deal on an LSD and I want to get the LWFW, but I figured id wait to do each, but I dont really want to do the LWFW until my clutch burns out... I heard thats about 20-30K miles
You don't need to replace the clutch at the same time as the LWFW, I kept the original clutch in, I fiigure I should get a few more years out of it. The LWFW and LSD both would require the RMS to be replaced, so I did both at the same time.
As for the LWFW at lower RPM, I do notice a rattle sound at 2000RPM under load, it is gone at 2500RPM. I don't drive around below 2500-3000 RPM so any low end torque that I may be loosing is insignificant to me. The car pulls a lot better up to redline, and there is no idle noise that I have heard.
For those that are considering it, do it. I bought a Aasco from FVD, but I beleive that Sharkwerks, GMG, and others all resell the same one. I was buying the O2 sensor extensions from Rhonda at FVD and she gave me a really good price on the LWFW, couldn't say no to the price.
Total labour to re and re is about 16 hours. The cost of the RMS is about $40, and 6 hours labour. Do the math based on your local shop rates, and there is your cost.
Once again, do the mod, if I had know then what I know today, I would have done it sooner.

Yes it will be a lot of fune on the track, but it is also a lot of fun on the street.
