How should I paint this wing?
Hey guys. I bought Jared's Cargraphic GT2 wing, and I am having it painted and installed this coming weekend. Take a look at it.

The uprights are carbon fiber, but they are not glossy. I can either apply clear coat and really make them pop, or I can paint them Guards Red. Either way, I will post before and after pictures. We are also installing a factory GT3 front bumper conversion kit and the Afterhours pipes.
Thoughts on the uprights?

My car is 100% stock right now. I just don't know if the carbon would look good on the red car. Part of me thinks it will disrupt the 'flow' of the wing, but part of me thinks it would add a sporty touch to the car. Hmmmmm.....
hmmmm
few accents and it could look nice, CF rear view mirrors or mirror inserts, CP chin spoiler on your gt3 front end (not sure they make) or other,,, if not then I would paint in the red... post finished pics!
I personally don't like carbon, and I would just paint it to match the rest of the tail. There is no harm done in painting it and covering it up, the style of the wing itself is enough of a statement.
I had a carbon fiber wing blade on my aerokit rear and did not like the look of it against the finish of the rest of the car. Have you thought of maybe leaving it black since you will have a black front lip on the GT3 front(unless you decide to paint it as well).
I have been toying with the idea of having my aerokit wing wrapped in flat black vinyl.

Nick,
I would not recommend painting the front lip spoiler. We have done that in the past and is does not last long. Being a "consumable" item for the car and easy to replace I would just keep it stock.
As for the wing uprights you might just want to wrap them in vinyl of whatever color you would like. If you do not like them then it is easy to peel off and you will be out only about 50 bucks or so. I would first put the carbon ones on there just to see how it looks. You might be surprised.

Yea, that's what I thought would happen with a painted lip. As for the uprights, my brother is experimenting with the clear coat today. He said the CF was porous, which was causing some fisheyes. I guess he applied some more coats, which is helping to seal the original fiber. He is going to sand the fisheyes down, and then apply the final clear coats. He said they already look much better. I will try that route first, as we can always paint them red later. I will definitely post pics, since you guys haven't seen the new car yet! I bought it two weeks ago, but it spent the first week at the dealer...and now it is 2 hours away getting manicured! Can't wait until Saturday! This is torture! My first 911...and I have barely driven it.
