Pagid Yellow
I took my Performance Friction numbers right off the box the pads came in...hence the .44 numbers
Here's the quote I recently received, the ( ) is a discount. I ran these pads before - worked great, super price... As to the brake bias - I tried both Yellow / Yellow and Yellow / Black and the Black combo was better. Heard the same from race prep shops too...
PFC 97 @ Pads & Rotors, Free Shipping
7818.97.17.44 $234.10 $ (11.71) $222.40
0776.97.17.44 $263.19 $ (13.16) $250.03
Total $472.43
The only difference I see from Mike's PN is the .44 vs. .33 on the fronts. Not sure why...

I read on the 996 turbo/GT2 section that if you bevel the edges of the Pagid Yellows than you can eliminate the noise and can keep the pads on 24/7 for street and track. If so, how long will they last? I'll do about 8 to 10 more track days this year. Also, how does the yellow wear down the rotor?

Great advice Mike, I have run R Comps with Stock pads, but they seem to wear very quickly. Braking is a function of friction and grip, you need them booth to get excellent braking.
I angled my Yellows and it cut the noise in at least 1/2. I used a rounded bevel about 1/4 inch or so.
Yes tire grip is #1 with regards to braking -
Unless you have PS2s (great street/track tire) or a pure track tire, then track pads make less sense in a way.

My Perf. friction PF97's came pre-angled but the Pagids do not. Both brands squealed on the drive over to the track....no big deal to me as I only use them for the track and drive back and forth.
What did you use to angle the Pagid's...bench wheel grinder, dremel tool?

Cdoc
CDOC comes to almost all of the PCA club races and is a great resource for our club racing. I would encourage you to check them out for pricing on the yellows. CDOC claims to have pads for ALL PORSCHE models. I have used the Pagids for my E stock car and love them. Pagid recommends that you not use any other pads prior to theirs. They say the rotors wont work with the compound properly if other materials are bedded on the rotor. I don't know if that is really true but I have followed their instrux and they work great! Good luck
as far as the squeal goes, i've just recently put in RS29 pads all around and bedded them immediately after install. i think i got a shy set 'cos they don't squeal. if i'm very light on the brakes it squeals a little bit but not freight train loud, actually not loud at all.

Pagid Yellow's are race pads, not everyday street pads, that will squeal and squeak with street type of driving, even with the anti squeal backing plates. These pads, nor other race pads are not designed for street driving and your Porsche stock pads will actually offer you better braking performance on the street.
Swapping out pads while you are changing to track wheels is so easy there is no need to leave the track pads in.

will find out this sunday after tracking w/ them.
