I took the car into a workshop for the Europipe installation, and did a battery change at the same time. When everything was ready, I started off the car and PSM Failure warning was shown as expected. Drove off for a while and it got re-set. Since then, the long annoying window problem was gone!!

Frankly, I have no idea how, but am happy with the outcome!
