Retrofit 997.2 PCM...

I have an '08 Turbo. Is there anyway I could retrofit a PCM 3.0 system into a 997.1?

Has anyone tried this, or is it just not worth the money?

No aftermarket Nav for me...

This question was raised a few months ago. I think the consensus was that it would be so expensive that it would be cheaper, or at least simpler, to trade for an 09. I expect that the wiring harnesses, connectors, etc. would all be incompatible. I'd be surprised if any shop would take it on due to the complexities.

$3k gets you a top of the line 8 inch full-color touch-screen aftermarket unit that has DVD Player, Navigation, iPod, Bluetooth, upgraded speakers throughout (keep subs) and integrated backup camera. And that's installed. Really nice units, too. I'd lean toward that over the new PCM.

I would have to agree, it looks like it may be a nightmare. Cattman may have a good point, I've also seen brackets to fit the larger double-din aftermarket radios.

What unit is that? I'd be interested to see some pics of it installed.
