Any suggestions guys? UPS or Fedex is charging like 700 bucks. That is plain ridiculous.

I ship a lot of stuff from Vancouver, Canada to Hawaii via Boat/Barge. I think the company is called Transgroup.

The other way would be to fly to LA, pick them up and fly back with them as your Luggage. I do think that might be a little pricey as well.

Have you tried BAX Global or Pilot Freight? We use them a lot for larger pieces like bumpers, hoods and wheels/tires.

Bax Global is quite a bit cheaper than UPS and the like. I shipped some 20" Techart wheels with tires to Australia for about $450 I believe. I taped cardboard on the faces of the wheel and them placed them in separate boxes. The recipient got them in perfect condition with no problems.

I believe Bax Global only picks up and drops off to business addresses only though.

you think they will get damaged if I just tape the faces of wheels and not put them in box?

i'm in honolulu- received rims with tires from east coast buyer as shown in picture on previous post. Just have them use lots of cardboard over rims and tied together with vinyl wrap- worked fine- also received rims like this from tire rack in past. both times no boxes .
