It's not really a ding but the paint was definitely penetrated. I realize this may all seem petty and perhaps it is but anyone who has bought a brand new car knows the feeling when you get that first scratch or ding. Anyway, the point is, is there a way to fix this with some type of glazing or buffing product? the scratch doesn't appear all that deep. Anyone?
Let me then ask the obvious question. Why does Porsche put the gas filler cap on the passenger side of the car as we all know that it is very easy for someone who does not know how the doors of a 911 open to inadvertantly hit a solid object? Is everyone on the engineering team at Porsche left handed?

its a safety thing..if you run out of gas and need to pour in gas on the highway you're on the opposite side of traffic so you don't get hit.

It's only 1/8 "?? Look into Dr. Colorchip and / or Langda product for a DIY repair. Why airbrush etc for only 1/8" of damage--overspray + wet sanding, polishing etc. on all the adjacent undamaged area?? Anyway, just my opinion. Remember, rock chips etc will inevitably occur in the front.

I frankly can't see why you bothered to post the equivalent of a chipped nail...
+1 I have more 1/8" scratches than you can count. They'll be detailed away and then reappear. Of course, that's what I get for actually driving the car.

I'll reserve judgement until pics of the girl-in-question are posted .

But hey, realistically, at least you were on a date / doing something fun when this happened and enjoying your ride.

my a-hole neighbor just backed into the nose of my pcar last week with her "way too big for a small girl to be driving" SUV. - cracked the bumper paint. I'm NOT happy about having to repaint the bumper, this is the "first" ding so to speak and my car is immaculate.
Here's the kicker- I left a very polite note on her car asking her to call me to discuss the damage. I actually watched her get into her car that evening, read the note, look at my car, toss the note and drive off!!! don't worry though, I got ahold of her and am doing the insurance thing. some people have no class!

So point is- it could have been worse my friend!
