Clearbra if <= 1 year

Hi all. I've already searched through many posts regarding clearbra. My question is a little different:

"Would you clearbra full front, bumpers & mirrors (apx. $900) if you plan to own the car for only 1 year?"

Details:

I bought a 2006 911 C2S last Friday with 2,300 miles. There is not a single scratch or blemish & the car is stock. I understand Porsche drivers/owners tend to be very meticulous about their cars. I plan to drive about 5,000 miles before I sell it next year (mostly highway, but some backroads).

I understand some buyers would not want the clearbra on, and so I'd pay (or bake into the SP) the cost to remove the clearbra if necessary.

Thank you.

If the car is as perfect as you say, then by all means. I would think the next potential buyer would highly consider a used car with that upgrade. I am a firm believer in the 3M film!

if planning to trade it in to dealer in a year, i wouldn't clear bra. if planning to sell private, then yes.

IMO, if you are planning to own it for a year, but don't plan on using it as a daily, then I would not bother. I never did it to my car (which is not a daily) and the car has very, very minimal signs of road debris damage at 16K. Still looks fantastic!

Well big factor I see is you are in Pittsburg. I just went through there and thought the roads were TERRIBLE. I wouldnt own a car there without one. Even if you are keeping it for a short period of time it will keep the car looking new... increasing resale value. I am happy mine was wrapped after the drive from Chicago to D.C. I dont think I have ever seen roads that were that bad... and all toll roads on top of that!!!

Thanks all for the great feedback. Unfortunately, we have a 50/50 on whether to clearbra or not under my circumstances. Of course if I don't, and get a bunch of chips, I'll be remiss. If I do, and the buyer hates clearbra, I'll have to pay to get it removed (either in selling price or out of pocket). Then again, a buyer might be very happy with the clearbra and the value could be enhanced.

I think perhaps the bottom line is that either way, I can't go too wrong. If I wanted to be the most conservative, I should clearbra it, then remove it before selling to keep the pristine, fully stock nature of the car.

Thanks again.

Just to let you know... if you decide to remove it you can do that yourself. Worst case is you might have a little adhesive left on the vehicle. All you need is some adhesive remover an it will come right off.

Taylor,

It is my feeling that you can not go wrong with putting the clear bra on your car. When ever I buy a new car it will have 3M film on it, personally I feel every new car should have 3M film. Just get the full hood so you do not have the line running accross.

Most importantly, look at the finished product by the installer of choice. This will give you a good idea of whether or not the finished product matches your standards.

The Bra will pay for itself, even if you have it a year. I am going to be selling mine to get an 997.2 and the Bra has kept the car flawless. Make sure you get the area around the wheels done, can't stress how important it is. It's all about the install, repeat, it's all about the install.
