Got new Shoes On!

I finally got my hands on 2009 Carrera S II wheels for my base c2 09. Thanks to Ishmerc forum member here. He gave me a great deal on his 09 take off wheels, tires, and center caps. Thanks Ishmerc. Anyways, I was a bit concerned to put widebody wheels on my c2 but they look great and much more aggressive. Thanks for the input guys. Here are the pics. I might lower my car next. Which CO is best suited for non PASM car?

Looks great, will you have any rubbing issues if you lower?

They look good. I wouldn't lower the car as it will certainly rub. Depending on compression over bumps, you may hit the rear bodywork. The fronts are the same on either a wide or narrow body.

Those rears really stick out as shown in the picture in post #2. If you lower the tires will surely rub the fender.

Sticks out too far in the rear. Nice rims, but compromised the car IMO.

Many aftermarket wheels use this same offset for 11's or 68mm offset for 12's on the rear. They look awkward on this car because it is not lowered. Lowering the car not only hides quite a bit of the tread but also tips in the tops of the wheel as a result of the camber change.

The narrow bodied GT3 uses a 68mm 12" rear with 5mm spacers which results in the identical frontspace as this 11" with 51mm offset. Just keep in mind that the GT3 has the fender lips rolled from the factory for additional clearance.

.
If he lowers the car even with severe camber -2.0 or more, and for street use he will not want to do this, the tires will rub the fenders. Look at the pictures and the rear wheels stick out way too far.

Looks good, but the rears do look like that they stick out too much. Anyhow, nice wheels. What did you pay?

It won't rub if you lower it. The top of the wheel will tuck in as you lower it and you can add more neg. chamber if its not enough. I know from experience. I think a very aggressive offset looks better b/c it follows the natural line made by the roof and flared out rear fenders.

I paid 2500 bucks. They had 38 miles on them. So guys, does it really look ugly because it sticks out too much? Should i change the rear tires to 295? Will it give appearrance of being more tucked in if I go with 295 tire? Maybe at least the outer edge of tires won't show too much ? I know that the offset will still stay the same but... Those rears are 305 right now on the car.

IMO it'll be just fine if you lower it a tad...definitely a more aggressive stance

I'd go 295's and lower it and it will tuck in nicely. You may even be able to get away with those 305's. If you could give me the exact specs on the rears i could give you a clear answer as I've ran 8 different wheels/tire setups in the past.

I like those wheels a lot. You got a good buy also. How about trying to trade the rears with a place like Wheel Enhancement and get the correct offset for a narrow bodied car.
